3, 2, 1… Snap! Write! Cut!
Welcome, new members of Global News Central (GNC)! Gathered in the BACOMM Lab of STI Global City on the 23rd day of August, the heads of said sub-organization helped and guided the new members of their team. Truly, college life just got even busier. Even more so with GNC being one of the work-heavy media teams of AB Communication Society. Thus, their workshop made sure to utilize every bit of time to ensure that members are encouraged to both hone and showcase their talents and skills.

There, insights were heard from two members of GNC: Sofyan Alawi, the Creative Director, and Mark Hodges, a production assistant. Alawi and Hodges were asked numerous questions, one of which was, “What is your message to the new GNC members?” To that, Hodges answered, “For GNC—the next generation of GNC, my only message is that I hope this generation will attract more new students who want to join, fully commit, and learn about how to use cameras, and especially broadcasting (for those who want to be an anchor or reporter).”
Meanwhile, when interviewed, Alawi immediately extended his congratulations to their members, saying that getting real hands-on experience already technically equates to being considered as media practitioners. He then gave words of encouragement and went on with the workshop.
Despite college being hectic, senior members find inspiration and fulfillment in their position, hoping others will share the joy that comes with working in such a production with the next generation of GNC. With incredible members along the way, such as the Creative Director of GNC, Sofyan Alawi, and Production Assistant, Mark Thomas D. Hodges, high hopes are placed upon what’s to come—no matter the challenges ahead!
